Well I finally got organized enough to actually create a layout that fits into 2 challenges.
Challenge Me Monday #44 is a challenge @ the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. This weeks challenge was to use a neglected cartridge. I chose 2, Don Juan and Blackletter, I have never used either of them. The
Music Monday Challenge was hosted by
Erin and
Angelica. The song chosen was Satellite by Guster. We had to create a project with a outer space type theme.
Recipe:
- My gypsy was very involved in the making of this layout. The stars are from the Don Juan Cartridge, size 7, 5, 3, and 2", using the stitched feature. I positioned them where I wanted them on the page and then removed boxes around them using the gypsy's hide key. The Cricut then only cut the stitching holes. Background paper is from the K&Co. Designer Paper Classic K McKenna Paper Pad.
- Pink craft thread from Michaels.
- Words cut from Blackletter cartridge @ 2" letters and shadow were welded using gypsy. It was a little tricky to make them line up, but I really like the effect.
- Photo mats cut @ 6X8" and 5.5X7.5"
- Pink papers are CTMH.
I think this may be one of my favorite layouts in a while. I love the look of the stitching. It really adds dimension to the layout.
